Locations

Many of the locations that feature in The Last Crown are real places, adapted to provide haunting backdrops for the ghost-hunting adventures. Here are just a few of them, from creepy castles to harbourside Inn's. Part of the charm of using real locations is that you get to visit them, whether it be virtually or in person.

Kynance Cove

Kynance Cove

Kynance Cove is a windswept, isolated spot on the rocky south coast. In The Last Crown the cove appears as several locations, including parts of Hallowed Isle, as well as the very sinister 'Fen House'. The cove boasts an impressive history, as well as inspiring some sinister scenes.

Carn Brea

Carn Brea is a hill top site, high above the town of Redruth, in the heart of Cornwall. It's seen a lot of history, from Neolithic settlements (3000 years ago!) to the Castle that crowns the natural Tor. It's a dramatic spot, appearing in The Lost Crown as H.M. Sedgemarsh Prison.

Carn Brea

Lizard Point

Lizard Point

Lizard is the name given to the rocky claw-like peninsula at Britain's most southerly point. Basically, it's the last stop till France! An old Lighthouse and Life Boat Station still stand to mark this significant location and remind us of turbulent times.

Polperro

Polperro is a picture perfect Cornish Harbour village, nestled in a natural cove in South East Cornwall. It is a town packed with charm and intrigue, from winding old streets to long dark caves, there's something for every adventurer in Polperro.

Coming Soon

More locations will appear as Last Crown locations are revealed. There's still plenty to look forward to, as Saxton is a fully thought out game-world, with many locations, filling a detailed map to inspire the adventurer in all of us. Sometimes X marks the spot, others will be harder to find, off the beaten track.

West Looe

West Looe

West Looe is delightfully quiet in comparison to the bustling seaside fun of East Looe. The rooftops around Prince's Square are chaotic and rambling, creating a Dickensian impression, most suited for a ghost-hunting sequel. That's probably why living and working here makes such an ideal base when creating the spooky 'Crown' games.

Trelawne Manor

Trelawne Manor was once the ancestral home of the Trelawney family, the most famous Cornish family, who date back to the Saxon period. They lived here for 400 years, before it was transformed into a holiday/caravan park. The old manor scowls at the tourists, who drink and be merry oblivious to the history.

Rame Head

Rame Head

The rocky peninsula at Rame Head is an intriguing place. There's a spooky, stone built chapel, open to the elements, a coast guard station and signs of World War II gun emplacements. Quite a mixed history and perfect for The Last Crown.

Bodmin Moor

Bodmin Moor is a legendary place, dotted with ancient sites and standing stones, it also crackles with supernatural charm. It is the old 17th Century mine workings that interest me, as a double for the Saxmunden Mines, between Saxton and Northfield.

Tredinnick

Tredinnick

The rural hamlets around Polperro and Looe boast many delightful cottages and farms, almost defying time and modernity, to present a bygone time and atmosphere. Part of being a good ghost-hunter involves finding suitable locations, hidden away in the lanes and fields. So, map-reading and exploration are as close to reality as you can imagine.

Previously... treasure, ghosts and murder!

Nigel Danvers has escaped London, on the Sleepwalker train, to seek adventure and fortune on England's windswept coast. Expecting a cool reception, Nigel is surprised to find that he is expected...but how?! Has he been here before?

Later - he befriends a local girl, Lucy Reubans (after some coaxing!). Lucy shares his interest in the paranormal, strange and supernatural, even though she remains skeptical. She knows the small harbour town hides many a dark secret, so embraces the chance to dig deeper. But is she safe?

Together they go hunting for the legendary 'lost' crown of the Anglo-Saxons; believed to be hidden in the eerie landscape that surrounds them. But, many of the townsfolk, including white wicca 'Nanny Noah', warn that some treasures are not supposed to be found; they have been hidden for a reason. Ignoring the advice, Nigel
seeks answers in a mysterious world; inhabited by the living, but haunted by the dead.
