Accommodation:
The backstreets and picturesque alleyways of Saxton are packed
with small cottages, once owned by fisherfolk. Many offer
Bed and Breakfast accommodation at reasonable prices. There
are also larger cottages available to rent for more than a
week.
The average cottage can sleep 4 persons, with two sharing
one bed. To book accommodation, your best bet is to visit
the museum (which doubles as the local Tourist Information
Centre) and ask Mr. Oogle (the curator) for details of what,
and where, is available. Mr. Oogle is a local man, born and
bred, so is sure to know somewhere perfect for you, and your
loved ones.
New: The
Bear, Saxton's one and only drinking establishment,
is now pleased to offer accommodation throughout the year.
There are rooms within the wood-panelled upper storeys of
the historic pub, as well as larger individual properties
throughout the town. Bookings can be made in person, upon
arrival. The Bear can be found in the lanes leading to the
harbour front. |
