Hideaway is a small, self contained apartment, in West Looe. It is away from the roads, tucked away in the greenery of the Cornish hillside. The self contained apartment is on the ground level, of 4 Chapel Ground with its own front door (full privacy), and is light, modern and ideally situated for those looking to explore the Looe area (coast, woods, estuary), and not be bothered by anyone. The Apartment is currently served with a Queensize bed, with fresh bedding. A cup chair is also provided. The Apartment has its own en suite bathroom and micro kitchen.

Hideaway is owned by Darkling Room, the makers of video game titles such as: The Lost Crown and the Dark Fall series. We are perfect for advice on locations, or extending a stay in the area.

Hideaway is ideally suited for singles, or couples sharing. The small apartment is also 40+ steps to the front door, up the historic granite steps of Chapel Ground. It is not suitable for those who struggle with stairs. Trust me. If you don't mind a bit of a climb, it's lovely and quiet up here, above town, with no cars or traffic.

The apartment has hot and cold running water, fresh bedding, towels and protectors. The undersink has a washing bowl, for dishes, if you want to attempt a bit of self catering. There is a microwave, kettle and crockery provided.

West Looe is well served for shops. The local Spar is well stocked, with fresh pasties, pastries and pizzas. It's amazing how much you can cram into one 'old fashioned' corner shop. There is also a Londis store, otherwise known as West Looe General Stores, which has an excellent meats and dishes counter, as well as... you guessed it, more PASTIES! Yum Yum. There's also fresh dairy, bread and a well stocked booze corner, for wine, beer and cider. Don't go mad though, there's a lot of steps.

Real Lost Crown & Barrow Hill Locations

The real locations seen in the video games Lost Crown, Silent Night and 'Blackenrock, in addition to Barrow Hill, The Dark Path and Bracken Tor, are available as an interactive Google Map.

Polperro is a picturesque harbour town, best approached by sea, from Looe. Anyone familiar with the locations from The Lost Crown will find themselves instantly transported into the fiction, as they wander the many lanes and passages of the town. Many of the town's buildings were 're-cycled' to become specific places; such as Saxton Museum, The Bear, Harbour Cottage, The Lighthouse Cafe, Celtic Corner...the list could go on, and on! Even The Lost Crown's spooky Old Net Store exists, as it appears in-game, on the cliffs beyond the village.

Looe is well served by bus and train, throughout the year. You can travel to Plymouth (nearest City), Duloe (for Lost Crown locations and Barrow Hill), and of course, Polperro. The trip to Polperro is easy, across open countryside, and runs until late in the summer. The train is also a delight, winding it's way up the valley to Liskeard, where you change for trains to London or further into Cornwall. Liskeard train station is also served by a bus route. Bargain 'roamer' tickets are often available in the Summer, which allow transport all over Cornwall and Plymouth for a fixed rate.

West Looe General Stores, aka Londis, is great for pretty much anything. Bread, cheese, cured meats, fresh vegetables and fruit, and of course, wine, beer and soft drinks. The shop is at the foot of the Chapel Ground steps, near Hideaway. The shop opens from 8am to 8pm, except Sunday when it closes at 6pm. Londis has a brilliant delicatessen counter, ready to eat hot snacks, Pasties, and fresh cakes.

Nearby, only a few more yards away, Spar is open 7am to 10pm, except Sunday when it opens at 8am. Selling most of what you may need, including made to order Chicago Pizzas, and ready to eat hot snacks, Pasties and sandwiches. Spar also sells Costa Coffee's.

There are more shops over in East Looe, such as Quayside Fresh and Co-Op.
