This was the first ‘game like’ project I completed. Using only photographic images, The Displacement was a time travel adventure set around the solar eclipse of 1999. |

The learning curve encountered while creating this title was not nearly as steep as it was for the Dark Fall games. There was no 3D production, fileI/O (saving and loading) programming or continuous inventory system. Those that played it had no problems technically, and enjoyed the game. This, I feel, shows that a game can be effective and enjoyable without having to resort to complete ‘world creation’. Even your own living space can become an interesting game location when intrigue and atmosphere are applied. |
